Dear Association Member,

I am writing this letter as a result of the cancellation of the Grenville Association Weekend, for the first time in its history, due to an insufficient response.

The format of the Weekend was changed last year as a direct result of suggestions by Association members. There was to be more emphasis on a family/fun day than the traditional Rugby/Black Tie affair. It was also felt that holding the event in School would allow members to revisit their old haunts and meet current sixth formers, as well as other Association members.

This year's Association Weekend is currently under discussion. It would be held in School on 17th May 2008 and the format is yet to be decided upon. It is felt, however, that we need to find out if there would be a suitable response from members before we begin any major planning.

We have, therefore, devised a questionnaire to give us some feedback and guidance regarding members' feelings about the future of Association gatherings.

We now have a Headmaster who is committed to and positive about the Association. He has pledged the support of the School and the resources needed to allow the Association to grow. In order for us to become a thriving association that takes an active interest in the development of the School we need to have the support and involvement of our membership at Association events.

A decision regarding the future of Association Reunions will be based on the results of the attached questionnaire, which can be posted or completed online from the link on our website. It is, therefore, vital that all members respond and encourage others to do so.

We are, as members, all responsible for safeguarding the future of our Association.

With best wishes

Ashley Clements
